The Shalom Hartman Institute and Nigun Nashim invite you to “A Room (Cheider) of your Own.” This beit midrash for women will address issues of Judaism and gender.
- Learn ancient Jewish and modern sources with a group (hevruta) of religious and secular women
- Address questions of femininity and masculinity
- Encounter feminist theories
- Consider change in the fields of gender and Judaism
The beit midrash, which will be led by Channa Pinchasi – an experienced group and beit midrash leader, doctoral student in the Bar-Ilan University gender program, and Hartman Institute research Fellow – will take place at the Shalom Hartman Institute every other Monday (14 meetings), 18:30-21:30, beginning October 11, 2010. Program price is NIS 980.
Participants will be selected following a personal interview.
